Walk-In Computer Repair for Brindlee Mountain
Brindlee Mountain is the plateau most of our shop sits on — Arab is the largest town on the ridge, with Union Grove, Horton, and the surrounding community dotting the rest of the mountain. This page exists because a meaningful share of our walk-in traffic identifies more with the mountain than with any single city line. If you live anywhere from the Marshall County side of the plateau through the Morgan County portion, this is the drop-off and pickup counter for your area.
Common Brindlee Mountain Repairs
The repair pattern on the mountain is a little different from the valley. A lot of homes on the ridge run on rural internet — fixed wireless, satellite, or a cellular hotspot — and the machines get older before they get replaced. That means more hardware-focused bench work: failing hard drives on desktops that are still running Windows 10, laptop screens cracked from school-bus miles, power-supply failures after a nearby lightning strike, keyboards that have lost keys to everything from coffee to cornbread. These are all flat-rate repairs with a written quote before any parts are ordered.
The business side on the mountain is mostly small trades and service shops. A landscaper whose dispatch PC will not stay connected to the WiFi. A small-town restaurant whose point-of-sale tablet crashes at dinner rush. A church office that needs a new computer set up with the old printer and the same email. Those jobs tend to come in as drop-offs or a quick on-site, depending on what is wrong.
How the Repair Works
Bring the machine to the Arab shop. We plug it in at the bench, run a diagnostic, and call you with a written, flat-rate quote before any labor beyond the diagnostic happens. Most common repairs turn around in 24 to 72 hours. Parts we stock (hard drives, SSDs, common laptop batteries, standard power supplies, RAM) move faster; ordered parts are priced up front and delivered within a few business days for most brands.
If the machine will not move — a tower too heavy to carry, a desktop wired into an entertainment system, or a business PC locked to a specific location — we can do the first pass on-site and pull it to the bench only if the repair needs it.
Flat Rates
- Diagnostic — $40, credited back toward any approved repair
- Virus cleanup — $89 flat
- SSD upgrade (with OS migration) — from $159 plus the drive
- Laptop screen replacement — quoted flat, typical range $159–$289 plus panel
- Power supply / battery — flat labor, parts at cost
- Data recovery (non-failing drive) — $99 flat for standard recovery
